When its time to relax…

From the port in my refrigerator door

The tiny particles of Ice shower my wrist

and the hairs tingle upright in their pores

And the cubes fall in with a tinkling sound

And fill the mason jar up and then mounds

To the top then  the frost laden surface gives way

To the brown spiced rum sprinkled over,

The liquor polishes and smooths the icy cold cubes

And waits in the bottom for the shower

bubbling forth from the ginger ale spout

whose bubbles and froths carry the spirits

about in this one pint container full of

refreshing delight

Till the nose hovers over

nostrils tickled with CO2 dew

And the lips gather the rim

and suction the brew over watering

tongue and the mouth rejoices anew.

And a hearty chuckle breaks through

As the mood rises oer the days strife!

I hope I know when enough is enough !

Magnetically drawn into the fray

The time was down for us to play

Electric sounds that threatened to pound

The gyrating souls deep down into the ground

Every one lives on the edge of a knife

Dancing and balancing, living their life

The copper conductor waving his wand

Contributes to the eclectic bonds

tying the dancers, till the moon goes down,

Keeping all safe till the sun comes around.

Care to Dance ?

There’s a big time bash coming into town

Everybody is gonna be getting down.

It’s fresh off the range

All the rage but kinda strange

They’re throwing around a name

Say it’s the Buffalo Boogie

Well the sound is so huge

and the movements pretty

the whole herds doing

The Buffalo boogie

With a thundering sound

yeah, a real ground pound

And a frenetic stampede

( Boys, take the lead )

Stomp the Buffalo boogie!

Down on the stage

Feel all the rage

Hear that bovine bawl

Answer the bulls’ love call

Stamp and blow, you all!

It’s a Buffalo boogie!

A herd mentality

Bovid reality

Bulls and cows getting down

On that free range sound

Fly sweeping moves.

It’s the Buffalo boogie!

MMMmmmmWHAAaaaaaaahhh !

Spring Looms

The days stay longer and warmer now

And even though winters nights still retain the chill

Springtime looms, flowers bloom, and as the grass begins to grow

The season ignites my soul ; I feel the annual  thrill

As the resonating  outdoors calls to me so very strongly

And the wildlife and greenery for which I have yearned all winter long

Sets the stage and makes the entrance onto my favorite stage of life !

I have carried with me for the past few days a feeling that I was forgetting something.  I have been checking my pockets, Searching through my pickup, Looking in my drawers, [ My dresser drawers ! ], etc.  Today I realized that one year ago I dreamed up a name, filed a password and wrote my very first blog.

One year in the life of a man is a very short time so making a big deal of such a minor event seems to me a bit pretentious. So why is it that as I write these words, right now , my eyes well with tears and all the memories of the blogs, and the feedback and the sharing, overwhelm my senses ?

Could it be that the folks who have read me, communicated with me, disagreed with me and smiled with me are really REAL people ?

Thank you all from the depths of my very soul for inviting me and my ideas into your den. I refer to the blog as my den for here I am free to acknowledge my every whim, to vent my every frustration, to match hearts with some of the most giving REAL souls I have ever had the pleasure to meet.

Fellow READERS, and I say this because anyone who writes must therefore read, Thank you all for sharing your feelings, thoughts , fears and celebrations with me ! I am a better person for having met you all .

BTW    I do not intend to go anywhere that I cannot climb into the ‘net, so You will all have to put up with me for the forseeable future. [or not] Damned philosophy!

Could be nice, or BS! I just write this stuff!

I would like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony[If I actually knew how that is done] and buy someone a Pepsi[ I dislike Pepsi, but if everyone else drank it,there would be more Coke for me.] so that all the world could sing and shout, and dance around the square,[ That would be the center of a town] and do things they would normally  not dare! Like listen to the tunes of life, from the past and near the future[ which would be around now, being the present and instantly the past] so that we could have some fun and maybe nurture a new generation with forward thought and congenial attitude and enable our children to bring to life a brighter and more benign world where we could all enjoy our Coke, or Pepsi or whatever would be the thing of tomorrow in perfect harmony! What a gas![ hopefully that will be the past; or the future because biological function……….Have a nice future!

A bit of nature

A smile I was to have written today for a very special friend, but the day went awry; for a while it seemed, this day would never end! Finally a nook I found, quiet and hopefully sound, and thought maybe the killdeer I had seen could erase away my frown! The mother bird[perhaps the father]was scurrying all around, dragging its wings and basically seemed, that she was beginning to flounder. Then it was the half-sized birds appeared, scurrying hither and yon. Momma or daddy, whichever it was, had a fit trying to rescue them from me,while I sat in my car sitting still as can be, and the chicks scattered haphazardly trying to escape their death you see, when all that was needed was a quiet retreat, and then teach the young not to play in the street!

use the useless

Those with a proclivity to gossip, lie, and cheat, should all meet up in one huge ballroom and demonstrate their feats. With all the hot air flowing out of the room ,we could float a million multicolored balloons, and something good would come from there!
